With iOS 5 on your iPhone (or iPad 2) comes the ability to take a photo in the Camera app by using the “up” volume button instead of the on-screen button. And since your earbuds also have volume controls, you can use your earbud button as a remote shutter release — a handy undocumented feature.
Pro photo tip: you can use your iPad as a nice ersatz light box.
