Spent all day at Job 1. Time to pull an all-nighter at Job 2.
Not-yet-TT: “Back to the Drawing Board” edition
I know that Tony 4.1 was recently released, but it was, at best, a stopgap maintenance update.
I’m not sure the engineers will be able to make their deadline for Tony 5.0, and besides, the entire system is structured on a flimsy code base to begin with.
Tony 4.x is long in the tooth, irrelevant, tired, suffering from a dwindled user base, and frankly just doesn’t want to be here anymore.
If there is going to be another major release (and at this point that is far from being a certainty), it’s going to take a massive rebuilding from the ground up. And I can’t say for sure if the engineering staff has either the resources or the will to make that happen.
So this just happened.
