Bit from a short story in progress. You can read the entire first draft over here if you’re so inclined.

O HAI
Hello to the approximately 100 new followers I’ve gained in the last hour via the Tumblr Radar.
As an explanation, the illustration of the jetpack dinosaur is not mine. It was drawn by my awesome pal Angela Black, who co-authors the Low Resolution Theatre webcomic with me.
This particular dino was from an old comic of ours, and I’ve adopted him as my personal mascot of sorts. This...

Jeeves and the Order of Battle
“Jeeves!” I called from the roiling waters of the tub, “That was the third bell. Could you please answer the door?”
“At once, sir,” he said as he strolled past the open washroom door.
By the huffing noises coming from somewhere down the hallway I inferred that my visitor was, alas, my Aunt Myrtle, who I’d explicitly told not to drop by when we’d spoken on the telephone earlier in the day....

It’s utter crap. Forget it.
At the very least, outgrow it.

The story was written by her.
There is a woman in my MFA program whose Passive Voice switch is permanently stuck in the “ON” position. It’s maddening.
I can’t decide if she got admitted because she’s boning the department chair, or if she is actually a genius who defies all common grammatical edicts as a way of elevating her storytelling into a completely new form of art.

First I thought, “Huh, I didn’t know I was working on a drink.” Then a microsecond later I reminded myself I’m not the only Tony on the internet. Apparently.

The ROI will most assuredly exceed the initial investment.
